Valentine's day used to be all about flowers, chocolates, cards and gifts, and although all of those things are nice to have, we think that Valentine's day could be used in a more positive way...
It's the day of love, which is a wonderful thing to celebrate, however not everybody has or even wants a significant other, however every single person in the world has a relationship with themselves and we think it's this relationship that should get all the attention and celebration this year.
Here's 4 ways that you can promote Self-Love this Valentine's...
1) Look in the mirror and tell yourself 5 things that you love about yourself. Forget the flaws, today is about finding the good in yourself and reminding yourself of this.
2) Take some time to treat yourself to something you love. Whether that means a stroll to the local cafe for a piece of your favourite cake or shopping online and buying yourself some lovely new lingerie. We think you deserve a reward for being you.
3) Make sure you eat something delicious - it doesn't matter what it is or who made it, but a nourished body is a happy one and nobody like restriction!
4) Repeat the Self-love mantra: "I am enough. I have enough. I do enough." - Say it enough times and you'll know it's true.
So, by all means, buy your other half a card and gift but do no limit it to this. Give our ideas a go, as we want you to make a vow that 2021 will be the year where Valentine's is day about spreading self-love across the world.
